Description
Apple’s iPad Air 2 is the second iteration of their thin Air series. Just as iPads before it the Air 2 features an aluminium unibody construction for a premium look and feel that’s hard to match in the tablet market. It’s now 18% thinner than the model it replaces at 6.1mm and weighing a mere 437g despite its full metal chassis.
Elsewhere the iPad Air 2 has gained a new anti-reflective coating on its display, making it far less subject to nasty glare while in use outdoors and with its high definition LED IPS display, you can enjoy all forms of content from all angles with great vibrancy. Stereo speakers make for an immersive experience as you watch movies, videos and listen to music.
iPads have always offered something more when it came to being a tablet. This is largely due to the early lead and success it’s had in the tablet market and in keeping with its 9.7″ display, developers have managed to craft a plethora of tablet-specific apps all available to iPad owners through Apple’s App Store.
With Apple’s new A8X tri-core chip, gaming and multitasking is an absolute breeze with iPad Air 2 and it’s now 2.5x faster and 40% more powerful than its predecessor – a true evolutionary jump for this new iPad, particularly when you combine Apple’s effective and innovative Touch ID fingerprint reader.
Running iOS 8, iPad Air 2 becomes more integrated with other iOS and Mac devices thanks to Apple’s Continuity, allowing you to have information made readily available to your across your entire compatible Apple devices. Have that document you were writing on your iMac but want to take to the couch with your iPad? iOS 8 makes picking up from where you left off a literal reality.
